William Hague seems to have been promoted. Cameron, it seems has decided that the Tory shadow cabinet is too full of toffs for this egalitarian age. So he has appointed not one but two "oiks"to his team. The old bon-vivant, Ken Clarke has returned to do battle with Peter Mandelson over Business. And now that cheeky tyke Hague has secured himself a semi-official post as Cameron's "deputy", with a "hugely expanded roving brief". Not sure what this brief is except that it seems to involve a direct involvement in any election campaign, and generally putting his old second-in-command Osborne out of sorts. It's really not on, y'know.
