The latest details of
expenses claimed by MPs under the controversial second homes
allowance are published; hundreds of thousands of receipts from
claims made by MPs from April 2008 to June 2009. More than 50
MPs "flipped" their second home allowance last year
from one property to another. Defence minister Quentin Davies
denies trying to claim on expenses the £20,700 cost of
rebuilding a bell tower at his constituency home. It brings back
the shivers from the summer of discontent when talk of duck houses
and moats were all the rage.
